Introduction
Institute of Public Health (IPH), Lahore, has announced 33 vacancies on contract basis for qualified candidates having Punjab domicile. The positions are available in various teaching and medical fields, including Bacteriology, Epidemiology, Occupational Health, Public Health Practice, Maternal & Child Health, Medical Entomology and Parasitology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Dental Public Health, Infectious Diseases, Biostatistics, and Demonstrator.
The appointments will initially be made for 02 years, extendable subject to good performance.

Assistant Professor Positions
The Assistant Professor positions generally require the relevant medical or dental qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, along with relevant postgraduate qualifications and teaching/practical experience as specified in the Punjab Health Department Service Rules, 1982.
For Assistant Professor of Bacteriology, the first preference requires MBBS or equivalent medical qualification with a relevant postgraduate qualification such as D.Sc, Ph.D, D.P.H, M.D, M.Phil, FCPS, M.S/M.Sc of two years duration or equivalent, along with three years teaching practical experience in the relevant specialty.
Where no suitable candidate with the above qualification is available, candidates with relevant postgraduate diploma qualifications and the prescribed teaching or practical experience may be considered.
For Assistant Professor of Dental Public Health, BDS or equivalent dental qualification is required, along with relevant postgraduate qualification such as D.Sc, Ph.D, M.D.S, M.Phil or M.S/M.Sc of two years duration. Alternative postgraduate diploma qualifications may be considered where no suitable candidate with the preferred qualifications is available, subject to the prescribed experience.
For Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases, MBBS or equivalent medical qualification with relevant postgraduate qualification such as D.Sc, Ph.D, M.D, M.Phil, FCPS, M.S/M.Sc of two years duration or equivalent is required, along with three years teaching experience as Demonstrator/equivalent or five years practical experience.
For Assistant Professor of Bio Statistics, MBBS or equivalent medical qualification is required, while M.A. or M.Sc. in Statistics/Biostatistics may be considered if no suitable medical graduate is available. Relevant postgraduate qualifications and the prescribed teaching/practical experience are also required as specified in the advertisement.
For other Assistant Professor positions, candidates must fulfill the relevant qualification and experience requirements prescribed under the Punjab Health Department Service Rules, 1982.
