National Tariff Commission Jobs 2026 – Contract Positions

National Tariff Commission (NTC) is seeking qualified professionals for contract-based positions to support the implementation and investigation of trade defence laws, economic research, tariff analysis, and assessment of the impact of tariff changes and trade remedy measures. NTC operates under the relevant trade defence laws and the NTC Act, 2015, in conformity with WTO Agreements.

Economist | 01 | PhD/Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, specialization in International Trade / Econometrics | 15+ years

1. Cost Accountant (Forensic & Industrial)

📌 Qualification: ACMA, CA, or ACCA, with membership of a recognized accounting body.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial cost-of-production audits, sectoral/product costing in domestic and Global Value Chains, or forensic accounting.

Key Skills / Responsibilities:

Develop mathematical templates and analytical methodologies for calculating Normal Value and Export Price.

Analyze value addition, dumping margins, subsidy components, and injury analysis in accordance with WTO Agreements.

Design sector-specific audit instruments, checklists, inventory valuation frameworks, and forensic accounting procedures.

Conduct on-site and desk-based verification of industrial financial disclosures and cost records.

Analyze product costing and sectoral cost structures within Local and Global Value Chains.

Compute dumping margins and distinguish import injury impacts from other macroeconomic factors.

2. Economist

📌 Qualification: PhD/Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, with specialization in International Trade / Econometrics.

Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in quantitative trade research, tariff analysis, impact analysis of tariff changes, trade remedial measure-related injury analysis, and domestic industry competitiveness.

Key Skills / Responsibilities:

Tariff optimization and tariff policy design.

Export product development.

Evaluation of sectoral competitiveness, value addition, and productivity enhancement.

Consumer welfare analysis.

WTO dispute settlement mechanism.

Assistance to exporters regarding trade remedy measures.

Contract Terms

Both positions are offered on a contract basis initially for 1 to 3 years.

Contract extension may be granted annually based on performance evaluation and organizational requirements.

Selected candidates will be offered a lump-sum salary (including all) at the time of initial appointment.

The initial salary will serve as the base salary for annual enhancement.

Salary may be increased annually by 5% to 15%, depending on satisfactory performance.

Experience will be counted after obtaining the required qualification/degree.
