Pakistan Railways Jobs 2026 – Career Opportunities
The Government of Pakistan, Pakistan Railways has announced career opportunities under the PSDP-funded project titled “Establishment of Business Development & HR Support Unit, Pakistan Railways.” Applications are invited from suitable Pakistani nationals for various project-based positions.
The appointments will be made purely on a contract basis under the Project Pay Scale (PPS) system. The positions offer opportunities for professionals and candidates with qualifications and experience in marketing, IT, computer operations, and clerical administration.
1. Marketing Expert
No. of Posts: 02
Pay Scale: PPS-03
Maximum Age: 45 years
MBA/MBS in Marketing, Supply Chain Management (SCM), or a related discipline.
Minimum 16 years of education.
All degrees must be recognized by HEC/PEC, as applicable.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in Marketing, Business Development, Market Research, or Customer Analytics.
Experience in the transport, logistics, public sector, or service industry will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Collecting and analyzing customer data.
Identifying appropriate KPIs and reporting key marketing metrics for Pakistan Railways services.
Setting up or optimizing analytics tools for tracking customer behavior.
Conducting online marketing initiatives.
Designing and evaluating marketing strategies for Pakistan Railways.
Recommending improvements to marketing strategies.
Developing pricing strategies while balancing organizational objectives and customer satisfaction.
Performing any other task assigned by the competent authority.
2. Senior Officer IT
No. of Post: 01
Pay Scale: PPS-08
Maximum Age: 45 years
BS (4 years) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 16 years of education.
Relevant professional IT certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA A+ or networking certifications will be an added advantage.
All degrees must be recognized by HEC/PEC, as applicable.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification relevant professional experience in IT support, network hardware administration, or office systems management.
Required/Preferred Skills:
Windows Server environment.
LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networks.
Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint.
VPN and networking systems.
File servers and centralized storage systems.
Backup and recovery systems.
Troubleshooting and IT equipment maintenance.
Procurement of IT equipment and services.
Preparation and evaluation of relevant procurement documents.
Installation, configuration and maintenance of IT systems.
Experience in a public-sector organization, railway, infrastructure construction, engineering consultancy, or MDB/World Bank-funded projects will be highly desirable.
Any other task assigned by the competent authority.
3. Computer Operator
No. of Post: 01
Pay Scale: PPS-04
Age: 18–30 years
Age Relaxation: 5 years general age relaxation is included.
Bachelor's/Graduation degree, preferably in Computer Science.
Degree must be recognized by the relevant authority.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience in computer operations, data management, or related functions.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Knowledge of InPage Urdu.
Preparation of professional documents, spreadsheets, presentations and reports.
Computer operations and data entry.
Database maintenance and electronic record management.
Document digitization.
Operation of scanners, printers and photocopiers.
Digital filing and record management.
Internet applications, email correspondence and online portals.
Basic troubleshooting of routine computer-related issues.
Any other task assigned by the competent authority.
4. Junior Clerk
No. of Posts: 02
Pay Scale: PPS-03
Age: 18–30 years
Age Relaxation: 5 years general age relaxation is included.
Matriculation.
Minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute.
3-week Basic IT Training Course, including MS Office, conducted by NITB.
Degree/certificate must be recognized by the relevant Board of Secondary Education.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant clerical or administrative experience in a public or private-sector organization is preferred.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
IT-related working knowledge.
Good typing speed with a high level of accuracy.
Knowledge of data entry and database management.
Office record keeping.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills in English and Urdu.
Any other task assigned by the competent authority.
Contract Terms
All appointments will be made purely on a contract basis for one year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and/or on a yearly basis for completion of the project.
Place of Posting
Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in Pakistan Railways according to organizational and project requirements.
Salary
The selected candidates will receive salary according to the standard pay package issued by the Finance Division on 10 April 2022, as amended from time to time.
Experience Requirement
Only post-qualification experience will be considered for determining eligibility.
Candidates should ensure that their professional experience meets the requirements specified for the relevant position.
Age Relaxation
The prescribed age limits for the relevant positions include the applicable 5-year general age relaxation, where specified.
Foreign Degree Holders
Candidates holding foreign degrees must provide an equivalence certificate issued by HEC/PEC, as applicable.
Government Employees
